2007 Serum Run
"25"
“Dream big and dare to fail”
Norman Vaughn
On
February 18, 2007, the history of the Samoyed breed will be forever
changed as 12 AKC registered purebred Samoyeds and their musher,
Don Duncan, embark on an eight hundred mile journey from Nenana to
Nome, Alaska. The NORMAN
VAUGHAN SERUM RUN '25 is a dog team journey along the
same trail mushers used in 1925 when they transported the lifesaving
diphtheria serum across the expanse of Northern Alaska. Teams and
their musher are supported by a snow machine and driver, who accompany
them on their journey. George Mabbott, of Poulsbo,
Washington, is
providing this service for Don and Seaview Samoyeds.
We invite you to be a part of this monumental event in the worldwide
Samoyed Community. Supporters at every level are needed and there
are opportunities to sponsor a canine member of the team, lend a paw,
or simply share your good wishes for the journey. Please explore
our site and enjoy the vicarious thrill of magic and enchantment with
an all Samoyed distance team.
